I was invited to speak on a panel at the 2015 Open Access Symposium & Prelec Lecture Open Access, Open Data, Open Minds. The symposium brought together academics, librarians, and technologists from many disciplines to discuss the potential (and potential problems) of open access publishing.
I was particularly inspired by Gary Ward‘s excellent keynote. Gary is the board chairman of PLoS, an open access publisher of scientific journals that is turning the traditional publishing model on its head.
